Printing to PDF on Vista
I really missed printing to PDF files since I upgraded to Vista. I don't remember what I had installed on XP that allowed printing to PDF, but I don't have it any longer. The free version of
CutePDF
appears to work well under Vista. Let me know if you know of problems with CutePDF or know of other alternatives to print to PDF on Vista.

re: Printing to PDF on Vista
If you're printing MS Office documents and using Office 2007, you may install an add-in which allows you to Save As PDF:

re: Printing to PDF on Vista
Not sure if this is what you had, but I use this:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/pdfcreator/
(Plus it's open source!)

re: Printing to PDF on Vista
Not sure if it works on Vista, but Win2Pdf (www.daneprairie.com) is really good, though not free.

re: Printing to PDF on Vista
I was sad to discover that pdfcreator 0.93 doesn't work out of the box on Vista

re: Printing to PDF on Vista
I installed CutePDF on Vista Home premium. At first it worked fine (as promised by the Acro Software (
http://www.cutepdf.com/products/cutepdf/Writer.asp
) but then for some reason it stopped working. Reinstalling it doesn't help. :-( Guess I'll have to try something else until it does work as promised.

re: Printing to PDF on Vista
I used CutePDF to generate a PDF file under VISTA from a WORD document - good document, acutately reflects the WOR document. When I sent this PDF file to my HP PCS printer - a blank page printed. I forwarded this file to my other laptop with the XP operating system and sent the same PDF file to the same printer - good results. Any thoughts on why I got the blank printout thru VISTA? Is it a VISTA bug? Is there a parameter that needs set? Am I missing a drivr?

re: Printing to PDF on Vista
Printing to pdf is but one example of how badly vista has messed everything up. What used to be a single click has turned into a nightmare...

Found the solution
DoPdf is a free "Pdf Creator" that works like a charm on Vista.

By the way, Vista is such a crap!

re: Printing to PDF on Vista
It seems that DoPdf works better than CutePdf. Sometimes CutePdf converts the documents in a rare way (missing words or letters)

re: Printing to PDF on Vista
I haven't tried this on vista, but a lot of times I will install a postscript printer (hp laser jet 4 color PS) and choose to 'print to file' save the file as a .ps file. then I use ps2pdf which you can find on most any linux machine. I think you can install it locally on windows too.

pdfcreator
I just used pdfcreator (0.9.5) on vista and it worked wonderfully. only very small caveat is you have to have the program running in a window before you can print to it.
