A couple of us went out to lunch yesterday to a nearby mall and noticed an interesting photo booth.

Upon closer inspection, we noticed this on the screen:

If you happened to be a customer who didn't notice the screen outside, this is what you see inside:

If you can't tell, that is Linux booting up and looks to be stalled. It looks like the video drivers are having some issues. I just love seeing crashed systems in public and for once it's not Windows or DOS!

Sorry for the bad picture quality. All I had was my camera phone at the time.

So did anyone figure out What Time Is It?

Ralph got it right with his answer, although he cheated by using Wikipedia. The peanut butter and jelly jar with the message is a reference to the "Peanut Butter and Jelly Time" song by the Buckwheat Boys and the dancing banana phenomenon popularized by the internet. This is another one of those ongoing jokes we have in the office and so that's why there is an unopened jar of peanut butter jelly at my desk.

Now don't eat my PBJ!

A couple of weeks ago, Jeff brought over a jar of Peanut Butter and Jelly to my desk and wrote this:

Anyone get the reference?

I'll reveal the answer in my next post.

Lately in the office, we have been discussing some of the best ASP.NET hosting companies out there that are fairly priced yet offer good services. Out of all the discussions, we came up with the following favorable list of hosting providers:

Note that Vertigo is not promoting any of these hosting companies and clicking on the links above does not give any type of referral credit. This post is just to share with everyone some of the hosting providers that we are using to host our personal sites.

Thanks to Alan, Alex, Dan, Paul, Ken, Ralph, and others (see me to get your name here :)) for sharing their ideas with everyone.

Welcome everyone to Vertigo Software's blogs.

It has taken a while, but we finally opened up our internals blogs to the public. Originally our blog was one of the ways we shared technical knowledge among the developers. However, the blogs eventually evolved into a place where not only developers, but everyone at Vertigo shared various information and the occasional humorous joke.

A few links to keep track of, the main aggregate site is located here:

http://blogs.vertigosoftware.com/

You can see a list of bloggers here:

http://blogs.vertigosoftware.com/Bloggers.aspx?GroupID=2

There are some very smart people working here so I hope you will stick around and subscribe to some or all of our blogs.

Once again, welcome to Vertigo Software!
